Humidity control is vital for the care and longevity of solid wood furniture. Wood naturally expands and contracts with changes in humidity, which can cause cracking, warping, or gaps in seams. At Jake’s Amish Furniture, we emphasize maintaining a consistent indoor humidity level between 50% and 60% to protect your investment.

Keep the humidity in your home between fifty to sixty percent, with moderate temperatures. During dry winter months, indoor air can become extremely dry, drawing moisture from wood furniture. It is not uncommon for us to pump 20 gallons of water; every 24 hours into the air here in our 6,948 square feet showroom during December through March.
